IP (Datacom) Engineer

IP (Datacom) Engineer
(Contract basis)

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the implementation and support of the system after commissioning
• Be on 7X24 hours on call duty on a rotationary basis
• Liaise with hardware & software vendors for additional support on the systems
• Work on short timelines in a demanding environment

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• At least 2 - 3 years’ working experience in a customer support, operations & maintenace or System Integration environment. 2 - 3 years’ experience in telecommunications will be an advantage
• Highly developed skills in Unix System Administration and Network Administration
• Highly developed skills in datacom TCP/IP-related protocols and network routing technologies
• Track record in supporting telecom products to service providers in the access space is required
• Experience with T1, Gr303, SONET, ATM and DSL or a CCIE™ is required
• Recent experience in the Network Operation Centre (NOC) will be an advantage
• CCNA will be an advantage
