Pulau Bukom refinery is one of the leading manufacturing Shell sites in the Asia Pacific region with a good track record of delivering capital projects successfully. In addition to the current project portfolio, several major projects have been identified as potential investments that would fit into the site’s Growth Strategy.
Senior Mechanical Engineer (Job ID: A12942)
Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day specialist mechanical engineering support, e.g., piping standards, gasket selection, pressure vessel issues, to the Refinery Production Units;
- Ensures mechanical engineering practices and assets are in line with statutory obligations, Engineering Codes of Practices and Shell DEP standards;
- Focal point for developing/updating mechanical engineering policies and guidelines;
- Provides mechanical engineering inputs for new Capital Projects and Revamps;
- Makes proactive contributions for improvement of the maintenance or plant reliability to Production Unit Managers in ensuring technical integrity of the assets;
- Leads and facilitates Root Cause Analysis of major plant problems;
- Champions site reliability improvement plan to ensure sustainable achievement of best-in-class levels of maintained availability and facility utilisation through the proactive application of RRM tools, e.g., sRCM & sRBI.
Requirements:
- The incumbent should have a University Degree, preferably in mechanical engineering combined with a minimum of 10 years engineering/maintenance experience in the oil or petrochemical plants;
- Good understanding of the various international mechanical standards, e.g., ASME/BS; as well as DEP requirements;
- Able to work independently and yet participate as a member of a team;
- Knowledge of RRM package would be an added advantage.
